Historical Overview

93,000

acres from the coastal mountains to the sea, the historic Irvine Ranch in Orange County, Calif. is a paradise of open space and natural beauty.

The magnitude of The Irvine Ranch open space legacy offers no hint of its modest beginnings: In 1897, Irvine Company quietly donated 304 acres to the people of Orange County Irvine Regional Park. Through the years that followed, the company worked closely with city, county and state governments, community groups and conservationists to create a steadily growing network of open space, trails and parks.
